CFC's statement of
purpose: The purpose of Area 64 Correctional Facilities Committee is to
coordinate the work of individual AA members and groups who are interested in
carrying our message of recovery to alcoholics behind the walls, and to set up
means of "bridging the gap" from the facility to the larger AA community. Our
Fifth Tradition states: Each group has but one primary purpose -- to carry its
message to the alcoholic who still suffers.
We have a skit that
may help spread the word. It is fun to do at assemblies and conventions
- Below is a copy of the skit that our committee
wrote and performed at our area assembly in Oct.2004. We had a lot of fun
doing it, and a great response. For the characters of the "fallen women
" , we asked our male delegate and male area secretary to dress as
women for their cameo part... talk about willing to go to any length...
Didn't find any other skits available for corrections, so would
like to make this available for other areas, committees, GSO, or institutions.
Familiar with the traditions skit, and treatment skit, and would love to
exchange ideas, skits, laughter, and recovery with you. If you have
a skit that we could sharewith our area committees, would love to hear from
you.
This skit can be used for area assemblies, districts,
state conventions or round ups, jails or institutions, judges panels, corrections
conferences, or to raise awareness for the need for funding for literature,
and the process of getting meetings behind the walls.
